Cool Small Business Loan images

A few nice small business loan images I found:

Damali Kasunsu

Damali Kasunsu of the Widows Support group in Twezimbe Centre, Mbiko, Jinja, Uganda. The centre is funded by Trócaire and is run by Sister Maureen of the Franciscan Missionaries.

Many of the widows have extended families to support, due to HIV it is common for grandmothers to be looking after 9-11 grandchildren. The widows were trained for 2 months in savings and credit, marketing, managing business, profit and loss accounts The widow support group enables its members to support and learn from each other. The group were then given loans to start their own small businesses.

Damali said : “This support group gives us great things. We have land to live on and are able to earn a living. We are able to pay school fees, to buy food and to dress smartly.

We are given loans, we learn how to save and at the same time to pay back loans very well. We make jewellery and crafts.

Damali’s husband died in 1997. Left with five children life was very difficult. She felt helpless and very upset. She didn’t know where to turn. But thanks to the Lord a friend who was in the widow’s group asked her to join the group. She came to the centre and met the Sisters and other widows. She got love from fellow widows and felt very comfortable with them.

The training gave her a happiness she didn’t think she would have again. Life is now very different. She can now make her basic needs and her children are in school.

Based on findings in the recent Open Consultation process, this year's Action Line Facilitation meeting on e-business (C7) focuses on electronic commerce (e-commerce) for development. E-commerce is rapidly expanding, but the uptake in many developing countries remains relatively low, especially for SMEs. This session considers the opportunities, barriers and challenges to domestic and cross-border use of e-commerce for trading goods and services by SMEs. It also highlight good practices and promising developments that can serve as inspiration for all stakeholders. An interactive discussion will feature the views of panelists representing governments, international organizations and the private sector as well as comments from the floor. The last part of the session will seek to identify concrete steps forward to accelerate the development contribution of e-commerce.

The Rio de Janeiro Metro (Metrô Rio) is a mass-transit underground railway network that serves the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Founded in 1979 with five stations operating on one line, it now includes 32 stations and two separate lines and serves on average nearly half a million passengers per day.

The system currently consists of two lines:

Line 1 (orange line), which serves the city's downtown business center, tourist areas in the city's South Zone, and several neighborhoods in the North Zone. It is a semi-circular line, and is fully underground. It runs from Saens Peña to Cantagalo.
Line 1 A (orange line), is the expansion between stations São Cristóvão and Central, leading to an line to Botafogo. In its traject, the Cidade Nova estation is placed in front of the City Hall.
Line 2 (green line), which serves working-class residential neighborhoods extending toward the north. It is a diagonal line, and almost completely over ground (mostly at graded and partly elevated). This line started as a light rail, but for increasing commuters, it gradually changed to metro. For its origin as light rail, it is fully over ground except Estácio station, although Cidade Nova station will be lifted.

While out last night, I got to talking with a woman who is in the PSU Community Development program and her husband. We discussed business cards and I talked about this tongue-in-cheek card that I made.
I had been noticing more and more green washing going on in both local and national advertising. This card is ment to call attention to that trend and inspire a critical view of it.
The wedded couple seemed to think it was actually very marketable card design.
What do you folks think?

One year ago CSIS convened the Executive Council on Development – a bipartisan group of leaders from government, business, NGOs, and philanthropy – to explore how the U.S. government and private sector can work together to support the economic success of developing countries. In their final report, Our Shared Opportunity: A Vision for Global Prosperity, the Council provides a targeted set of recommendations for the U.S. government and private sector, calling for a greater reliance on business, trade, and investment tools to achieve better development outcomes. The report is part of CSIS’ Project on U.S. Leadership in Development, a partnership with the Chevron Corporation launched in 2011.
